History of Audencia
The name "Audencia" is a blend of two words: audientia, ae, f (audio) - which means "listening," and audacia, ae, f (audax), or "boldness."

1900
The city of Nantes establishes the École Supérieure de Commerce de Nantes. Mr. Emile Loubet, President of the Republic, signs an executive order granting the institution status as a state-recognized business school.
1902
The school's name is changed to École Nationale Supérieure de Commerce et d'Industrie.
1923
Post-educational training courses for corporate executives are added to the school's offerings, via ministerial authorization.

1964
The school's status changes to École Supérieure de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises (ESCAE) and is placed within the purview of the French Directorate of Higher Education (Direction des enseignements supérieurs).
1994
The ESCNA delivers its very first Diplôme de l'Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Nantes Atlantique - Haut Enseignement en Management degree.
2004
Audencia receives authorization to issue the title of Master alongside its diploma.
2006
Audencia Group created with the Ecole Atlantique de Commerce and Sciencescom communication school.
2009
European network created with HHL Leipzig and MIP Politecnico di Milano.
