Aims of the programme

With regard to teaching and learning, the programme aims to:

  • Deliver flexible programmes of study that reflect areas of School and staff expertise
  • Provide a supportive, structured environment in which students are encouraged to develop independent learning skills
  • Develop subject knowledge and understanding, and provide training in discipline skills to enable graduates to pursue careers in business and management or related fields
  • Give the option to specialise in one of 14 areas of expertise, in French or English
  • Develop personal transferable skills to enable graduates to pursue further programmes of study or careers in non-cognate fields
  • Reflect best practices and innovative thinking and research in international business education and practices

One-year programme

During the first period of the IMM programme, students follow a semester of core courses in Management in Nantes, France.

For the second period of studies, students may choose to follow two elective periods in Nantes or in one or two of the ABE (Alliance for Business Education) schools, or to focus on a major in Nantes (14 English and/or French-taught majors to choose from). To enter a major, students must submit a request, as they normally require an advanced level in a specific field of management.

Management project

Participants write and defend a master thesis.
Students may choose to link their project to an internship.

Extended programe

Students with a 3-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (180 ECTS) may enter the Extended IMM programme, which is based on the IMM one-year programme but with a semester of fundamentals in management followed by a research or internship period.
Students will follow a first semester of fundamentals in Management in Nantes.

In order to develop and put into practice the knowledge gained during the first semester, students can choose to follow a semester of research in a particular field of management or do a professional internship in France or abroad (Audencia commits to helping students obtain an internship, but internship placement depends on the student’s preferences and profile and thus it is not guaranteed).
