Audencia’s new web site aims for the ideal of 100% accessibility
2 July 09Audencia's new web site has been redesigned with the aim of becoming the first run by a French higher education establishment to offer total access regardless of handicap, mother tongue, computer hardware or location in the world.

While no school or university in France has yet to receive the minimum Bronze label from Accessiweb, the body that certifies the access levels of French web pages, Audencia’s new site already respects the guidelines of both BrailleNet and AccessiWeb.
Among the one million+ French web sites, only 61 have secured the AccessiWeb label since 2004. Most of these sites belong to local government authorities, public transport networks, internet agencies or private health insurance providers.
Audencia’s new site proposes alternatives to images and animated features, respects precise rules on data structure, names and describes the documents to download, organises content in a well-defined site plan and uses a standard HTML syntax.
It is also compatible with all search engines (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and with all the technical aids used by the handicapped to access internet.
The school has chosen to continue using the Typo3 system to create its web pages in order to ensure the long term future of its accessibility policy.
