European Logistics Association’s Doctorate Workshop

From June 24 to 27, the Centre for Supply Management (Pôle Achats Supply Chain Atlantique/PASCA) on France’s Atlantic coast will welcome the 14th annual ELA (European Logistics Association) Doctorate Workshop.

Around 20 PhD students will present their research at the workshop to be held in Saint Nazaire, one of France’s major ports, 50km from Nantes.

These students will be overseen by an international team of four moderators: Dr. Anthony Beresford (Cardiff, UK ) chairman of the ELA Doctorate Workshop 2009, Dr. ir. G. J.J.A.N. van Houtum ( Eindhoven University, The Netherlands), Dr Rudolf Large, Universitat Stuttgart, Germany and Dr. Thierry Sauvage (Audencia Nantes, France).

Founded in 2007 by Audencia Nantes and the Chamber of Commerce of Nantes-Saint Nazaire, the Centre for Supply Management houses and coordinates activities aimed at developing competences in Purchasing and Supply Chain.

The centre offers education programmes, carries out research and works closely with business.

Two masters programmes in Supply Chain and Purchasing Management are proposed – a specialised master and an MSc. The centre also provides a certificate in Purchasing for professionals studied via executive education as well as training sessions of one to three days.

Company relations activities include best practice workshops and development advice for small and medium companies.

In addition, the centre is home to a research institute whose members work on fundamental business topics through studies and publications.
