Epidemiological situation
At the beginning of the school year in September, positive cases of Covid were identified: 4 positive students were detected between September 1 and 4 and 8 additional cases were detected between September 8 and 14. The ARS regrets that the containment in the private sphere remained incomplete.
In a second phase, new cases were identified in connection with festive evenings organized during the week of September 14. These private events were the starting point of a more significant transmission within the first and second year students, despite the instructions given by the school.
A first wave of massive screening was then organized and a second campaign took place on Monday, October 5th.
In total: 1013 tests were taken, 212 students have tested positive since the beginning of the school year with a positivity rate of 24.1%.
In all of the 15 other programmes provided by the school in Nantes, the ARS identifies almost no cases. Among employees, only 2 positive cases have been reported since August and the concerned people have already returned to work. The protocol put in place by the school is effective, but is obviously based on the willingness of the student community to respect these rules even off campus. This is the case in all of Audencia’s other programmes in Nantes, where all students continue to attend a mix of face-to-face and distance learning, with a very low contamination rate observed.
Barrier measures
The ARS Pays de la Loire found that barrier measures and social distancing were well respected on the Audencia campus.
This rapidly changing situation required a strong and immediate mobilization of Audencia's pedagogical staff in conjunction with the ARS. Thus, since September 24, all 1st and 2nd year students have been isolated and distance learning has been implemented. Classes on campus have not yet resumed due to a situation that is still evolving, with the need to comply with the seven-day delay.
From now on, isolation and containment measures are maintained until 12/10/20 included.
The resumption of face-to-face classes will be authorized with masks (surgical ones if possible), from the morning of Tuesday, October 13. The ARS Pays de la Loire and Audencia remain fully mobilized in monitoring this situation and in accompanying the people concerned by these health measures.
