Biography
Ajnesh Prasad is Professor in the Department of Organization Studies and Ethics. His research interests broadly span the areas of social inequality, diversity in organizations, and interpretive methods.
Ajnesh has published two books and over 80 articles in journals such as Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Review, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, Organization Studies, and Work, Employment & Society. In 2021, his article on social inequality in the Global South (co-authored with G. Zulfiqar) won the Best Article of the Year Award from Academy of Management Learning & Education and, in 2014, his article on border crossings was shortlisted for the Article of the Year award from Human Relations.
Ajnesh currently serves as co-Editor-in-Chief at Management Learning and Associate Editor at Human Relations and Organization. He is also the inaugural editor of the Transcending Boundaries section at Gender, Work & Organization, and was previously the Research Integrity Editor at Journal of Business Ethics. He sits on the editorial boards of several other journals, including British Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship & Regional Development. He has co-edited several journal special issues, including at Academy of Management Learning & Education, Business & Society, Gender, Work & Organization, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, and Marketing Theory.
Ajnesh's research has been covered in numerous media outlets, including CNN, Canadian HR Reporter, The Globe & Mail, Harvard Business Review, The National Post, and The Washington Post. His research has been cited in reports published by the European Commission, the United Nations, and the World Health Organization.
Ajnesh earned his PhD in organization studies from York University's Schulich School of Business. A former Canada Research Chair, in 2025 he was inducted into the Royal Society of Canada's College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists.
