Biography
Dr. RAFFAELE FILIERI is (Full) Professor of Digital Marketing at Audencia Business School. Prior to covering this position, Raffaele has covered academic positions at Newcastle University Business School (UK), Northumbria University Business School (UK), University of Limerick (Ireland), and La Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy). Raffaele owns a PhD in Business Engineering (Complexity Science) from Universita' Roma Tre.
Raffaele has work experience in the private sector, where he has worked as an instructor, consultant and business analyst for SMEs and multinational companies (e.g., Fiat Auto, Merck, Tharsus).
Prof. Filieri is Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Research, European Management Review, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Internet Research.
Raffaele has been consistently included in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list of 1% of the most cited scholars worldwide (Clarivate 2022, Clarivate 2023; Clarivate 2024; Clarivate 2025) since 2022 and ranked in the Top 2% of global scientists by Stanford University since 2021 (Stanford University's science-wide scientist's databases of standardized citation indicators).
Raffaele’s main research interests include online consumer behavior; electronic word-of-mouth; user-generated content; online consumer engagement; online communities; social media marketing; influencer marketing; sharing economy; knowledge management; marketing for good; sustainable development and online behavior; technology adoption and continuance intention; Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption and impacts; and online consumer co-creation (see the research page for more details).

Prof Filieri is an expert of the Chinese market. Prof. Filieri spends over 3 months each year to talk to businesses and PhD students. He is knowledgeablre of the chinese business ecosystem, trends, and evolution. Prof. Filieri is available for consultancy projects and research on the market.
